This petition started yesterday after I read this article. It did not sit well with me that we are going to be funding such an initiative at a time like this and I thought there must be something I could do to raise this up. Within 24 hours, it has managed to gather over 25k signatures and I really want to thank all of you for the support thus far!

I deeply appreciate the willingness and civic-mindedness of so many amongst us who wish for better allocation of resources towards more pressing issues. I am also heartened to know that many of us share similar values of prudence and care for one another.

A lot of you have reached back to me regarding the details of this issue, like whether the funpack procurement has already occurred and if so what would happen to it, what will the budget be spent on instead, who is in-charge of making the decision etc. There have also been some who are asking me for the solution to this and honestly, I am not in a better position to answer these than any one of us.

To these questions, I have since reached out to Minister Ng Eng Hen along with this petition and I will keep you guys updated on any developments.

Please DO NOT donate any money.

This feature is enabled by change.org as THEY are asking for donations, not me. The money is essentially ad money for them and that's how they stay profitable.

This petition is NOT raising money for any organisation.

If you are in a position to donate to others in need, I kindly urge you to visit www.giving.sg and make your donation to a cause of your choice!

Meanwhile, continue sharing this petition with others. We are in this together. Thanks for all you’re doing Singapore, let’s keep going. #SGUnited
