On Friday February 1st, 2019, Kansas Men’s Basketball player Silvio De Sousa was ruled ineligible for the remainder of the 2018-2019 NCAA Men’s Basketball season. In addition to being ruled ineligible for the current season, the NCAA ruled De Sousa ineligible for the 2019-2020 season.

The suspension comes in wake of an FBI investigation of Adidas where it was found that De Sousa’s guardian received a loan of $2,500 to allow Silvio to attend a class for school. Silvio had no knowledge of his guardian’s actions.

In recent events, as of Tuesday March 26th, 2019, it has been found that Nike has been making payments to other recruits to attend Nike schools such as DeAndre Ayton and Bol Bol. Neither of these players was, or has been suspended. The actions taken against Silvio De Sousa is unfair and flat-out wrong. This petition is to get justice for Silvio and get him rightfully ruled eligible for the 2019-2020 season.

De Sousa’s lawyer has already filed for an appeal of the NCAA’s decision, we are hoping this petition will help his cause.
