Yesterday we asked everyone to tweet, FB and shout at the top of your lungs to #cancelsharkhunters and you did. It’s one of those few occasions where shouting works! The three companies who have said no to advertising are worth a staggering $52B. Why is that important? Because we are been heard at the highest levels of corporations yet NBC is silent. NBC Universal’s value? $40B.
Tripadvisor contacted us yesterday and said they will no longer advertise on Shark Hunters. We had a personal email from the CEO, thanking us for bringing the show and Tripadvisor’s advertising to his attention. We are impressed. “We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Unfortunately, we are not able to review in depth the content of every show we purchase. We agree that Shark Hunters is not a good fit for TripAdvisor’s advertising and have directed our media agency to pull advertising during that program. Please know that we would never intentionally buy shows with offensive content and we will be more conscious of that as we evaluate future buys.”
Yesterday we also began emailing with the Executive office of Clorox who own Kingsford Charcoal. Many of you have sent messages to Clorox on their FB page and many have received less than satisfactory replies. However we have now received comprehensive confirmation that Clorox/Kingsford will no longer advertise on Sharkhunters. The most important sentence of the multiple emails is:
“Kingsford ads will not appear on Shark Hunters again.”

Finally it has been a positive couple of days but NBC is still saying NO to canceling the show. It has the show scheduled over 30 times in the next 14 days.
