The Issue
Samantha Gibb is related to the famous Gibb’s she is the daughter of late Bee Gees singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Maurice Gibb. Samantha is a fantastic singer/songwriter that has recorded her own music and the versatility of her music is truly amazing. Her earliest works were when she worked alongside her father and her older brother Adam. The earliest recordings are Angel Of Mercy and The Bridge which were released in 2010 on Bee Gees box set Mythology.The first recordings also Samantha did with her father were released under the name Luna Park in 2000 a full length album with her brother Adam and her current songwriting partner and band mate Lazaro Rodriguez, this personal and professional connection has lasted over two decades. Samantha and Lazaro did a series of recording projects as the creative leads joining forces with Samantha’s father Maurice as producer and instrumental support it continued into the early 2000’s until his unexpected passing in early 2003. Then in 2005 Samantha would return to form with Lazaro as M.E.G. A tribute to Maurice using his initials, releasing a mix of the tracks recorded with her father and a few new selections as an independent full length album titled The Samantha Gibb Project, Then Wrong Side, a 2010 EP, and Temptation in 2011 a full length album released now under the name Samantha Gibb and the Cartel which shows Samantha’s growth in her songwriter and as a singer. Samantha and her band members moved to Nashville a few years earlier, inspiring them to produce a documentary about local musicians. It was a critical success, screening at thirteen festivals worldwide, and eventually winning Best International Music Documentary at the LA/NY International Independent Film and Music Festival. Samantha moved back to Miami Beach and she continued to write and record. Samantha and her band toured extensively across the United Kingdom and the United States, and then a short time later Samantha would join her Uncle Barry on his international Mythology tour. From 2013 to 2017 this was a busy time for Samantha musically. In 2013 she wrote and produced and released the 3 song Saturday Night single. She also recorded and released the 2 song single Hold Her In Your Hand. Hold Her In Your Hand is a song that was written by her father Maurice and her Uncle Barry in 1983 and the other song If I Can’t Have You that was written by her father Maurice and her Uncles Barry and Robin in 1977. In 2014 she wrote and recorded the song Wild At Heart. Then in 2015 she wrote and recorded 3 songs titled Memories, Hollywood and So We Danced. Then in 2016 she wrote and recorded and released these 2 songs Mama Told Me and the song Earth Day. Also in 2016 this was a creative and emotional year for Samantha she created and became apart of the band Gibb Collective the band is made up of Samantha and her brother Adam and her cousins they recorded a tribute album to honor their father and uncles music the title of the album is Please Don’t Turn Out The Lights it was released in 2017 also in June of 2017 Samantha, Lazaro Rodriguez and Samantha's band performed at the Secret Solstice Festival in Reykjavik Iceland where they opened up for the rock band Foo Fighters. Then in 2019 Samantha sang on her friends and musicians Chase the Jaguar song I Gotta Have It. And in 2020 Samatha wrote and recorded these songs Life and Love, Bottle Up Love, Railroad and A Little Bit. Then after moving back to Nashville after living in Ohio. She wrote and recorded in 2021 the song Spiraling with award winning country singer-songwriter Kyle Jacobs then along with Kyle Jacobs and Tony Woods they wrote together her single Christmas in a Small Town. And in 2022 Samantha released her single Good Lovin' that she wrote with Lazaro Rodriguez and their friend and musician Jim Lawton. Samantha really is an amazing talent in her own right that I feel needs to have more people listening to her and her music because she is the real deal!
