This petition began a year ago and NBC cancelled all shows on June 29, 2015. Close to 219,000 people had already signed.
Later on, NBC backtracked on their word to stop promoting Trump after dumping him due to what they call their values, but they found out ratings and the money coming out of their viewers was more important than bigotry. The rest of the media had been doing the same thing and because of them and the free air time given to him, Trump is now the Republican nominee.
Still, 219,000 people knew that his bigotry was not okay in June and millions of people still know. This country deserves somebody better to lead us forward. The fact that Trump is the face of a party does not represent the majority of this country. Mr. Trump is just a fad, he's a representation of fear and a culture of citizens accepting what the media sells. He will never be President of this country, we know better.
The Latino community and friends was able to cost him millions of dollars from his shows and forced him to sell the Miss Universe organization. Not only that, but we kicked the "Dump Trump" movement into high gear and Macy's, PGA, Nascar, and many other organizations and individuals followed suit. It is estimated that overall, we cost Trump over half a billion dollars in business. We made history and we showed what we can do if we unite.
Continue the fight and vote for a candidate that looks after your interests and not what the media sells you. Don't let fear determine who you chose. Vote for love and not hate. We will prevail. ¡Ánimo!
