BJD has fielded just 13% Women in State Assembly Election 2019

Thank you for your support and believing in the cause to give better opportunity (if, not equal) to women in direct politics.
You must have read the response by Mr. Sasmit Patra who is the spokesperson of BJD.
I want to thank Mr.Sasmit Patra for the response on this petition. Many congratulations to BJD for taking the lead by giving 33% tickets to women the opportunity to stand for Loksabha Election whereas leading national parties had ignored women's representation.
BJD is ruling in Odisha from 2000. It’s almost twenty years now. BJD had given 19 women to contest assembly election out of 147 seats in 2019 assembly election. Its just 13%. I was expecting a better percentage if not 33%! We are almost 50% voters.
13% tickets to women for state assembly, is not a great figure for a party who got appreciated by United Nations! I am very disheartened by this. But I understand, nothing can be done at this moment. So I will be closing this petition now.
To address Mr.Sasmit Patra's concern for other national parties who aren’t doing anything on women’s representation in politics, I want to let him know that there is another petition running by Political Shakti asking major political parties including INC and BJP not just 33% but 50% representation of women as women are 50% of voter population. So we are there to do everything in our capacity.
I want to thank you each one of you who had signed this petition and supported wholeheartedly. The journey just began - A long way to go till we get our due representations in Parliament and state assemblies.
