This petition will be in support of 

1. The NUS administration to delineate clear campus policies that protect students against any form of sexual crime.

This should be in the form of stricter punishments for perpetrators, wider visibility and transparency of how cases have been handled, an official NUS Code of Conduct on Sexual Crime and an implementation of education for students with regard to sexual assault, harassment and respectful relationships. NUS should also reiterate its position against any form of sexual harassment and violence and should implement a strict no-tolerance policy towards any form of sexual crimes moving forward.

2. Victim support in NUS

NUS needs to establish a better network and support system for victims of all forms of sexual crime- including outrage of modesty, sexual harassment, sexual abuse, sexual misconduct and sexual assault. The support system could be in the form of an office/centre on campus that provides free services which include counselling, legal advice, support groups and befrienders who are professionally trained to provide information and support at hospitals, police stations and courts (all services which are currently provided at AWARE's Sexual Assault Care Centre).
