At last we have some positive news, we are approaching a year since I started this petition. NICE are considering the changes that all the researchers / professionals have been asking for. The consultation ends on 15th January, this is limited to section 1.5 which states...... **For the purposes of this guidance, severe to profound deafness is defined as hearing only sounds that are louder than 90 dB HL at frequencies of 2 and 4 kHz without acoustic hearing aids.
