Hello and thank you to everyone who has signed, shared, tweeted etc. I'm hoping you can help progress this further.....I've heard from Jim Fitzpatrick's office (Jim is the chair of the APPG on deafness - update 28th Jan explains the APPG) that they have tried three times for a debate on Cochlear Implantation. My understanding is that this only needs one MP to support this debate for this to go ahead. My own MP Sarah Champion is not permitted to do this as she is on the front bench. Please can anyone who has an MP who is not on the front bench ask them to support the debate. I believe this is now being requested on a weekly basis and there is no limit on the number of applications. Please help if you can by emailing your MP, thank you. I attended the Cochlear events in Sheffield and in London. The event in London at the Science Museum was an excellent environment for the children and they where entertained whilst the adults could listen / read what the speakers had to say. It also gives people the opportunity to meet / see others with an implant / on the test pathway towards a CI. There was recently a survey on candidacy for CI, from information I've seen on twitter this was discussed on 9/3/17, and they have stated the results will be on cicandidacy.co.uk asap. The BCIG have a conference on 20-21st March. The EFHOH (European Federation of Hard of hearing People) and NADP (National Association of Deafened People) have a Conference in London on 6th May see link for info https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/staying-connected-informed-and-empowered-tickets-30754547680?ref=ebtnebtckt The Ear Foundation (in Nottingham) have announced a Save the date for the 1st July for their Annual open day. Please continue to share the petition and raise awareness. Many thanks Diane
