Deforestation is the act of clearing a large area or forest of trees. The logs that are harvested are commonly used for things like furniture, buildings, fires and other wood based products. Cutting down trees is essential but cutting down too much can lead to a number of issues in the environment.

Some of these issues are the loss of biodiversity, which can lead to extinction. Loss of fertile soil, which can lead to killing of crops and flooding in rainforests. Alterations in climate, which can help accelerate things like global warming. And an overall impact on humans and their environments.

According to the United Nation’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), we cut down almost 33 million acres of forestland a year, around the globe. This means that in 100 years, we will have almost no forestland, which helps attribute to breathable oxygen in the atmosphere as well as the sustainability of the ozone layer. Which is a very important part of the earths protective layer.

Sign this petition to help stop deforestation and help to protect the earths natural resources, so we can help prevent this beautiful earth's utter doom.
