Nurses week 2022 saw strikes, thousands of nurses participating in the National Nurses March in DC followed by the sentencing of RaDonda Vaught on 5/13/22 with hundreds of nurses rallying at the courthouse.

I know we are tired. I know we give a LOT.

I know we are not done.

There's a stalled ratio legislation Bill in the House and Senate badly in need of language revision before it's voted on. This petition corrects the issues with those Bills and is for the purpose of amendment prior to the next vote. Please capitalize on the momentum of current events to get the language updated and to be more inclusive by signing and sharing. Please review the language of the stalled Bills which are posted in a previous update to this petition and compare to the language and superior inclusiveness of the language in this petition.

We have seen for ourselves and shown everyone what we can accomplish when we UNITE.

THERE IS NO HEALTHCARE WITHOUT US.

It's clear that changes will only happen if we push hard for them. Together, we can get national ratio legislation. We can get workplace safety legislation. We can get rid of systemic bias, install Just Culture, and get decent benefits for ourselves and families. We can create laws to protect us from unintentional errors. We are not robots, we are not machines, we are not SCAPEGOATS.

We are imperfect humans in an imperfect system. Let's improve that system. National ratio caps will greatly reduce Healthcare Worker burn out, injuries and improve outcomes for patients.

Sign, share widely and take good care of yourselves.

Safe Staffing Saves Lives.
