Hi Everyone,

For a few years now, I’ve tried to keep this petition going. When I started it (back when the Wild played the Stars during the playoffs), j thought it be easy for us to get to 10,000 signatures and start a discussion with the NHL. It didn’t work that way. Along the way, we were covered by Skor North, Bring Me The News and Hockey Wilderness. Mike Modano liked the petition on Twitter and Lou Nanne discussed it. We had a lot of debate on both sides.

For any of you unaware, the NHL released retro reverse jerseys for every team today. The Wild are doing a throwback to the North Stars’ 78-79 jerseys. While it’s not the history, logo or banners that we wanted, it’s progress. Michael Russo had a very informative article in the Athletic I encourage all of you to read (subscribe if you have not ... he’s well worth it) discussing the jersey and where the NS history stands. Reading it somewhat put me at peace. While I wish we could get it back, I understand it all much better now.

My recommendation to all of you is purchase the retro jerseys. No, it’s not the NS, but it’s their colors and a tribute to their history in Minnesota. If the Wild see these jerseys (shirts and hats to be released from what I read) sell, it could encourage the NHL to do more. Maybe one thing leads to another. Money talks and us showing through out wallets we want the history by responding to a jersey like this just helps. 
 
So well it’s not an official victory, it’s progress. We made people think and started a discussion. That’s progress in my opinion. Thanks to all of you and Happy Holidays!
