Let's prevent kids and pets from dying in overheated cars
The Issue
On average, 37 kids and hundreds of pets die in overheated cars every year in the US alone. Simple and inexpensive technology using motion detection, a thermometer, and a siren, could dramatically reduce these numbers. The NHTSA, which assess and rates the safety of cars, could incorporate these safety devices into its rating system and thus ensure that automakers integrate them into their vehicles. Automakers could also make a device available as an after-market product for cars already on the road. No child or animal should die of heat stroke in a car -- we can fix this. Please sign this petition and forward it others so that we can get NHTSA's attention on this. Thanks!
