Telecom Companies in Ghana must stop stealing call credit from customers!

Telecom Companies in Ghana must stop stealing call credit from customers!
The Issue
Over the years, Ghanaians have been subjected to cruel treatment from all the telecom companies operating in Ghana. Customers lose call credit without sometimes making a single call. They have ways of deducting the credit from your account without your consent. Ghana is one of the most expensive countries to use the internet, and this is partly due to such unfair deductions.
In addition, the companies automatically use your call credit for browsing when your internet bundle expires without asking for your consent. This is extortion, and it must STOP!
Please help sign this petition to the Ministry of Communication and the National Communication Authority to ensure telecom companies in Ghana are no longer able to deduct credit without your explicit consent. Below is the stance of this petition;
- You are the one who bought the credit and you should be the only one to decide how/when to use it. Telecom companies may defend that they alert customers. However, alerting a customer that they have used 50% or 100% of their data does not give them the right to dip into your account when your data finishes. They still need your consent of a Yes/No before using your call credit for browsing the internet.
- Telecom companies should cut you off the internet when your data bundle finishes until you choose to re-bundle, just as they do when your call credit finishes.
- Telecom companies should not deduct any credit (no matter how small) from your account without your explicit consent, including but not limited to unsolicited text messages and caller tunes.
Please SIGN this petition and forward it to friends and families who want to see this change!
