By now I'm sure you've heard that the Department of Justice has made a decision NOT to charge or prosecute for the murder of Eric Garner; the "choke hold" murder witnessed around the world on video! It is the murder where the victim is heard saying "I CAN'T BREATHE" 11 times, as his life was being taken. The family is devastated to say the least, for it took 5 long years to get here - that's how long they've been made to wait! But justice has not been served. The case with worldwide notoriety was avoided from the beginning. First, by a prosecutor who turned it over to a grand jury to let them decide, then by the state and federal government who BOTH insisted that the other should proceed, while neither of them did. And throughout all this time the officer who has used the "illegal chokehold" was making MORE MONEY on desk duty than he ever did out on the streets. $120,000 in pay raises is what he received after killing a man claiming he sold "a loose cigarette".

But if they believed that to be true how do the explain charging him with an inflated felony after learning he was dead? The charge suggested that Garner had told 10,000 untaxed cigarettes which is a felony, but the cause for arrest was said to be "selling a loose cigarette". And throughout this entire ordeal police have consistently maintained he was arrested for the sale of a loose cigarette. So when officer Justin Damico testified during NYPD disciplinary hearings that he had initially charged Garner AFTER his death with a felony, while knowing only two packs of NewPorts were found in the victims pocket - wasn't the intent to "criminalize" the victim to obscure the murder that had been committed? But the Department of Justice refused to bring Federal charges claiming they were unable to .."prove beyond a reasonable doubt that officer Pantaleo acted willfully in violation of the law". No one questioned or examined the WILLFUL LIE told by Pantaleo's partner in the crime, who falsified official documents for the purpose of "criminalizing" the man they'd just murdered. "Not a big deal. We were effecting a lawful arrest"...that is what the sergeant said when told Eric Garner was dead! A man is dead "murdered" for allegedly doing what would amount to "no jail time" even if caught! But his MURDER is no big deal?

Don't take my word for it or any of those out there demanding justice. Take the word of that sargeant who says that the murders of police against UNARMED individuals is "NO BIG DEAL".
