We are happy to inform our friends, that Dr. Ahmed Shaheed's manadate as the special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Islamic Republic of Iran was extended in the 28th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council. Shame on the 11 nations (Bangladesh, Bolivia, China, Cuba, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Venezuela, Vietnam, Russia, and Pakistan) who voted against and 16 countries (Algeria, Brazil, Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Maldives, Morocco, Namibia, Nigeria, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sierra Leone, South Africa, and United Arab Emirates) who abstained from voting. And thank you to 20 nations (Albania, Argentina, Botswana, El Salvador, Estonia, France, Gabon, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Latvia, Mexico, Montenegro, Netherlands, Paraguay, Portugal, South Korea, Macedonia, Great Britain+Ireland, and United States) who voter YES to his mandates.
