Welcome to the Hotel Procaccianti / Paolino? Let's keep up the fight. Governor, McKee, this is on your watch. If you are happy with our current Governor and the legislators that supported the RIDEM and its Director who allowed this to happen to the Dutch Inn / Lighthouse Inn then vote them in, but if you are sick of the politicians that failed to take action to stop this gross abuse of power by a multi-billion-dollar developer, then vote them out. Let us not forget, Procaccianti is continuing to operate 2 illegal parking lots in the heart of Galilee with the Blessings of the RIDEM. Senators Alana DiMario and Bridget Garcia Valverde supported the RIDEM Director and his gross mismanagement of the 5-acre parcel by voting to confirm his nomination at the Senate Confirmation hearings. Rather than asking him critical questions when the Director was being nominated, they failed to ask pertinent questions regarding how the RIDEM can condone the reckless actions of Procaccianti and Paolino. If we vote in our elected officials who could have taken action to stop this gross abuse of power, then we should not complain about the consequences of their future actions when they will continue to FAIL to act out against this gross abuse of power. If you or I created such an economical and an environmental eyesore for the State of RI, we would have been fined, summoned into court, and possibly imprisoned. Make your vote count in RI. If you want politics as usual in RI, then vote them all back into office. If you want change for the better as it cannot get worse than the conditions the RIDEM and Procaccianti and Paolino created in Galilee, then vote those who failed to act and who had the power to act out of office.
