On Saturday, June 18th, we had a Rally in Galilee RI Against the 19 Year No Bid RIDEM - Procaccianti Land Lease Deal that will cost us millions in lost revenue and it pave over precious land that can be better utilized with a Mixed Use Development, and We Are Against the State of Rhode Island having to pay for the Demoliton of the Lighthouse In that was purposely abandoned by Procaccianti and Paolino as it will cost the taxpayers close to 1 million dollars to clean up their wasteland they created.    Let Us Not Forget, Procaccianti Developers Note On their webpage they control 10 Billion in Real Estate Investments. They also note they are the second largest real estate developer in the United States. Ironically, they created the worse econonomical and environmental hazard on State leased land to a private developer in the history of the State of Rhode Island, and it is a haven for scavengers. If it was you or I who did this to property we leased out we would be summoned into court, fined, ordered to pay restitution, and possibly be arrested for gross neglect and dereliction of duties. Why does the RIDEM fail to enforce laws to protect our town and our environment when a Billionaire company leases State land? Is it the new Golden Rule:  He or she who has the gold rules.    After the Lighthouse Inn is demolished it will no doubt subject our landfill to toxins and debris that cannot be healthy for our environment. Let us not forget Procaccianit recently purchased Champlin's Marina, and it was determined by the RI Attorney General's Office it was illegally expanded upon. Then a retired judge from RI steps in and is attempting to overrule our Attorney General's Office investigation.  The Great Salt Pond Committee fought against the expansion for years as the expansion will cause harm to the fragile Great Salt Pond. Why has the RIDEM been quiet on the expansion of the Champlin Marina? I wonder if it is because Procaccianti and Paolino of Procaccianti Developers recently purchased it. We will need everyone who is against the 19-year no bid parking lot lease and who are against the State of RI paying for the demolition of the abandoned hotel to show up at the State Properties Committee Meeting when it is going to be held to determine if the lease and actions of the RIDEM are valid or invalid. I cannot see how the RIDEM's actions would benefit the State of Rhode Island and the tax payers of RI. Rhode Island has one of the highest state taxes in the United States. We are taxed on our Social Security, 401K, Pensions, or any other types of retirement savings. Why does the RIDEM want to award Procaccianti Developers a 19-year no bid parking lot lease after his company's gross neglect for the company's gain and the taxpayers of Rhode Island's loss. Below is a link to the video. It closes with the song, Honesty...It is hardly ever heard. May our State leaders, our Governor, and all those who can stop the RIDEM work for honesty in Rhode Island. I would add, the RI Attorney General's Office is opening an investigation on my behalf as the RIDEM failed to provide me with documentation on what person or persons from the RIDEM wants to give Procaccianti Developers a 19 year no bid parking lot lease, and what person or persons from the RIDEM is asking the State of RI to pay for the demolition of the Lighthouse Inn.
