According to The New York Times, on July 28, the US Senate unanimously approved a resolution calling on Secretary of State Anthony Blinken to recognize Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism.

The adoption of this resolution by the Senate further increases the pressure from Congress on the Biden administration to add Russia to the list of state sponsors of terrorism.
