Thank you to everyone who has supported the effort to name a future U.S. Navy submarine USS Henry Breault in honor of the only enlisted submariner to receive the Medal of Honor. Your signatures, your letters, and your voices continue to matter.
Right now, we are in a waiting phase. Petitions of this nature move through several layers of review, and that process takes time. While we wait, the most important thing we can do is keep the conversation alive. Every share, every discussion, and every letter to a congressional representative helps ensure that Henry Breault’s legacy stays visible to the people who can make this decision a reality.
If you haven’t already, consider writing to your members of Congress and encouraging others to do the same. Grassroots support is one of the strongest tools we have.
And there’s a meaningful milestone ahead:
March 8 marks the 102nd anniversary of Henry Breault’s Medal of Honor action.
It’s a perfect moment to reflect on his courage, remind others of his story, and renew our commitment to seeing his name carried forward by the Fleet he served so selflessly.
Thank you for standing with us. Let’s keep pushing — respectfully, persistently, and together.
