Three more communities can celebrate the naming of submarines in their honor! Congrats to them (especially Norfolk and Groton, two submarine production towns of great renown), but what does this mean for the petition?

Three new SSBNs have been to honor a district, state, city. Then for SSNs there have still been cities, island regions, fish, a SECNAV who was a submariner, and now a river. The pattern indicates there is no naming convention, so I recommend pushing the advantage now, especially as Breault's 101st anniversary is coming up on March 8. A submarine named in honor would bring unprecedented attention to the enlisted sailors we depend on so greatly to ensure our ships are in a ready state to defend the country.

I do plan on sending packages to the incoming SECNAV and SECDEF, and I encourage another round of letters to congressional representatives. Share on Facebook and other forums. I personally will be continuing my efforts unabated for SSN-817, I am a firm believer in momentum and I think this is the ideal time.
