Today, a very hearty, well-deserved, shout-out is merited to American Legion Post 13 in Putnam, CT, who honored the memory of Henry Breault by organizing and participating in their annual Henry Breault Golf Tournament. A special thanks to Brian Maynard, who has been leading the charge for several years now!

The connection of Breault to Putnam is a model for communities to honor and perpetuate the memory of Medal of Honor recipients. Breault was born and raised in the community, and they carried on his memory. The American Legion, the Albert J. Breault VFW, Aspinock Historical Society and so many other individuals and organizations were pivotal ensuring the memory of Breault could persist. It is a reminder that heroes are not something you here of in some faraway place; they are our friends and family.
