This week's budget has had massive implications for our school system. Nicky Morgan published a white paper outlining her plans for the future of our schools. In it she talks of a leading curriculum that is giving our children what they need for life. This is nonsense! The current curriculum is harder than ever, more abstract than ever, and is not giving children what they need to succeed in life. It's leading in some ways I suppose..... leading in filling their heads with technical language and useless terminology, leading in testing them and leading in failing them compared to most of our international neighbours. Have a read about Finland. A country which respects it's educators, families and children.
