No Response From the Guardian

Thanks to everyone who has added their signature to this letter over the past week - we have gained over 1100 names, mostly within the first few days! Sadly, despite this great support, I have not had any response from Tthe Guardian since sending the letter to their letters section last Monday, and it seems unlikely that I will hear anything back at this point. Whilst The Guardian has no obligation to print any letter it receives, this lack of response is especially disappointing considering that the newspaper has printed two articles over the last week written about the Channel 4 Genderquake debate from a "gender critical" perspective, both filled with inaccuracies, half-truths and misrepresentations and presenting the current trans movement as a controversial social trend at odds with women's rights, rather than the medical and social justice revolution that it is. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/may/10/the-gender-recognition-act-is-controversial-can-a-path-to-common-ground-be-found https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2018/may/13/genderquake-failed-now-for-a-proper-trans-debate Most frustrating for me is that both articles overstate the importance of the small number of individuals within the trans community who object to the changes to the Gender Recognition Act, painting them as representative of a larger schism; a schism one that I had hoped that my response would show not to exist. If nothing else, I hope that letters such as this reinforce a sense of solidarity within our community. This is especially important in a media climate where even supposedly progressive media outlets such as The Guardian see our lives and rights as increasingly up for debate.
