I would like to ask @MyCrypto to rename the twitter account and handle back to MyEtherWallet and resolve any disputes with co-founders.  This is the most responsible thing to do at this point in time to protect the Ethereum community from scammers and additional confusion. 

Verified Twitter accounts are vital to communication between a project and their supporters. The blue mark helps us protect against scammers - something that is plaguing the crypto community. 

What happened?

There is a split between the co-founders of MyEtherWallet. One of the Co-founders, Taylor Monahan has posted proof that she has done a substantial amount of work on the project and decided to part ways: 

"You now have a choice between using MEW or https://mycrypto.com."

The issue is that she decided to take the @MyEtherWallet twitter account in the process. The verified @myetherwallet twitter was changed to @mycrypto, taking with it all its followers. 

This is a big issue because Twitter was a way for us to communicate to MyEtherWallet.com. I recognize that Taylor is responsible for most if not all of the replies / tweets. The issue remains that @myetherwallet was verified to be myetherwallet.com's official Twitter. On top of that, the followers joined because of myetherwallet.com - something that is no longer true. 

Project Level Verified Twitter accounts are not personal accounts and shouldn't be changed without the permission of the community at large.
