Hi Everyone,

Thank you so much for your ongoing support. While this started as a petition for one of my patients, this petition represents ALL of those struggling with eating disorders. There are important shifts happening and the louder we get - the better.

For example, the Ministry of Health related to Eating Disorders has requested information on the prevalence, gaps, and lack of treatment for eating disorders in North Simcoe/Muskoka. This signals recognition by the government of the scarcity of resources in rural areas. 

Last week,  an article in the news reported that:

- there has been a 43% increase in calls to the National Eating Disorders Information Centre

- wait lists for eating disorder day treatments are now over seven months long.

- CHEO must deny 73% of children referrals for eating disorders due to lack of capacity.
