As a mom, I cannot understand how our government can continue to refuse to acknowledge that Anorexia is a physical disease and deserves the same amount of funding as other diseases. I am desperately searching for a residential facility for my formidable 18-year-old daughter. If my daughter had cancer, I would not have to find new treatment providers because she turned 18. I WOULD NOT have buy the chemotherapy, find a facility to administer it and pay for it myself. I would not be subjected to the lack of training for this disease, and feel the urgency of watching my child fade further from our family away every single day. And yet there is residential facilitates in the US that can save her. But I have to pay for it myself.

How does a single Mom on an average income pay over $40,000 USD A MONTH to save her child’s life? And knowing that there is no follow up care for her to come home to?
