My Mom Can Still Walk, But Ontario LTC Funding Isn’t Enough to Help Her Keep Doing So
Savannah SidleOttawa, Canada

My mom finally got into long-term care, but the underlying problem is still there: the level of Ministry-funded staffing and mobility support is not enough to meet her needs. She can still walk, an external clinician has recommended substantially more daily ambulation, but the amount she receives is limited by whether someone is available to supervise her. I’m now asking the Ontario government to address that funding gap so residents like my mom are not losing mobility simply because there is not enough staff time to help them keep it. More detail in the most recent post.
