I have sent the following complaint to every Police Commissioner, the first Selectmen and anyone else that has authority in the Town of Monroe. No response. I'm at a loss. I feel hopless and heart broken for my brother. Where else can I turn? This complaint is about Chief Salvatore of the Monroe PD, and his advisors and other principals of the Monroe Board of Police Commissioners. The plight of Officer Andy Wall to be reinstated in his job after surviving brain cancer is well-documented on Changes.org. The main point of this complaint is to make sure Chief Salvatore knows how his decisions and actions reverberate in the community of first-responders. When Police Officers, EMT or Firefighters sign up to spend every day of their career putting themselves in harm's way to honor and serve the department and the community, they demonstrate the highest level of personal loyalty and devotion. To be met with anything less than that same level of loyalty by one's department, is a shameful degradation of the department, and in the case of a 20-year veteran officer who survives a harrowing brush with death, is an even more unconscionable act of cowardice. When word of such disloyalty reverberates through the community, it sends a clear message to all Police Officer's, Firefighters, and EMTs, both seasoned and prospective: "Do not count on your superiors to have your back when you need them most!" He, and he alone has created a hostile work environment. I'm not sure why Officer Wall, or any Officer for that matter would want to go to work every day with shameful employers like Chief Salvatore. Thousands of people are awaiting your response. I will be sharing it with the public so please don't offer false platitudes that this is on its way to being resolved to everyone's satisfaction. That is not true.
