So the best kept secret is out and Musk will now get a direct hand in Government operations, heading this new and yet official organisation called Department of Government efficiency , with intent to audit public /tax payer funds and limit waste.

The issues I see with this edict:

1/ this is a conflict in scope and purview of the Government Accountability Office who already monitor and report on fradulent or wasteful spend.

2/ Musk whose corporations benefit from tax payer funds will be in conflict of interests given he wont be relinquishing (transparently) any of his interests.

So, if we think this is a qualified appointment, I question that qualification of both the person who appointed him to this as well as Musk’s himself to run such a role.

He may be a savvy businessman, but Government machinery is not private enterprise and accountability once diluted, becomes hard to reinstate. 

How can we trust Musk to be trustworthy when this campaign was all about his lack of trustworthiness?!
