Our 86 year old grandparent that was taken into a police station and threatened with a caution for sending cards to her grandchildren, has received a letter from the police. They have informed her that they do not intend to pursue a prosecution and have informed her daughter, who does not allow her to see her grandchildren, that it is not in the public interest to pursue her claims of harassment.
I advised this dear lady NOT to accept the caution, as she has done nothing wrong and accepting a caution is an admission of guilt. She is relieved but equally remains bereft as her two beautiful grandchildren remain removed from her life.
This campaign is about giving grandchildren the right to loving and safe relationships with their grandparents, a significant relationship in the life of a child. WE will keep raising the profile and ask that you keep signing as this woman is one of over 1.4 million grandparents grieving the loss of their grandchildren.
Good news - We have secured funding to take our cause to another level, so please keep watching this space and I will keep, keeping you informed over and above the day job!
Thank you,
