Sleeping is so hard when you can't stop thinking! A clear conscience yields a good night's sleep. I remember saying this once to a number of MP's when I was campaigning for a criminal offence of forced marriage. It was to a Home Affairs Select Committee Inquiry and I put to them how I could go to bed at night knowing that I have tried and I asked if they could say the same? 

Read the comments and be moved with compassion by these experiences because they are a cause of intergenerational trauma that can and must be prevented. 

I am signing because: 

I'm a grandmother who has never been allowed to see my 2 granddaughters. It hurts so much, I have tried to rebuild things with my daughter as I have done nothing but love her. We have talked on the phone, she has promised to allow me to see them, I have made gifts then 2 days before meeting she has a hissy fit and stops all contact again. 

I'm signing this and asking my friends to sign in supporting me. Not being able to see my granddaughters is causing me a pain there are no words to describe
 
One experience of many and each day I will keep sharing a quote. Please keep sharing and signing as we take this to the powers that be. The power of the people does not lie and they need to hear of this support and feel your outrage too.

My picture is of my first grandson. The next generation with whom I have had the privilege of building a loving and safe relationship.

He is now 7, we adore each other and he has every right to this relationship. No family disagreement (unless safeguarding) should ever be allowed to put this at risk because not only does he lose out but I believe it will impact on his future life.

I speak as someone that has been disowned by her family for over 42 years and as someone that has come to appreciate even more, how legacies that include loving relationships with grandchildren are an important part of our children's futures.
