Don't let violent women beater Nev Schulman present an anti-abuse show "Catfish" (or any other show on MTV). He is worst than #Afroman

The Issue

Dear MTV,

Nev Schulman violently attacked a woman, a member of LGBT community. He held her in head lock and repeatly punched her in the head, again and again.

On April 28, 2006, during his junior year at Sarah Lawrence collage, Nev Schulman, Currently the presenter of hit TV show "Catfish" Then a photography and dance student — decided to take pictures at a coming-out dance celebrating LGBT students held at Bates, the campus’s cafeteria. The student Schulman assaulted, along with many other eye witness say's that Nev, "Punch her in the face several time's, then put her in a headlock and repeatedly punched her again and again".

The female victim, a member of the LGBT community states:

"To be quite clear, Schulman's account of the events of that night is as suspect as all his other endeavours. I attended the dance he mentions and saw that he was taking pictures of LGBT* couples dancing and kissing without their permission. I talked to the Student Affairs liaison at the event, who I knew from my work study job, but nothing was done about it. I confronted him, and asked him to stop taking pictures. I didn't tackle him and I certainly didn't choke him with his camera strap. I tapped his shoulder and he turned and hit me out of nowhere, I went down and he held me in a head lock and repeatedly punched me while I tried to get free. The impact broke my glasses and the rest of the night was a blur. I got off the floor, talked to police, then went home to sleep. When I woke up the next day, my face was bruised, I was hurt, and a friend urged me to go to the hospital, which I did"

"I also felt intimidated because his lawyer had been waiting for me in the parking lot after my legal meeting"

"I didn’t talk to him but it was clear that Nev’s family had the means to drag me through a lengthy court case. As an LBGT financial aid student I didn’t think the chance of getting justice looked good"

Anther witness, a sober DJ how had an almost birds eyes view states:

"I was the DJ of almost everything at the school, I also don't drink or do any drugs, this combination meant that I saw a lot of these things. In this case, I remember Nev getting to the party, I remember him taking pictures, including mine. And then a while later, I remember becoming aware of something happening on the dance floor. When you're DJing your field of vision gets pulled upward like that, and I remember getting a pretty good angle of seeing Nev's fist fly, and then a second later could see his target. Worst of all, he then bolted, which caused security to accidentally grab a few of the wrong people.

Anther person who viewed the images of the damage to her face the next day states:

"I remember seeing the pictures she posted to facebook afterwards, her eye was bruised and swollen, and there was a cut on her nose. like, this was no bullshit punch, he pretty much fucked her up"

There are many more witness's account of this incident.

Sarah Lawrence collage conducted there own private investigation then removed Nev from the collage, permanently.

Nev attempted to a "damage limitation" exercise by addressing the issue first in his book where by he offers a watered down version of event's which effectually portray him self as the victim. Nev states he was “tossed out” of Sarah Lawrence College for punching a girl in the face. In the passage, Schulman explains away his behavior by saying he “hadn’t been aware of” the fact that the person he punched was a woman, because she was “short, stocky, crew-cut-styled.”

One could ague that this is in Nevs past but this was not a one time confused lash out, it was a FULL ON AND PROLONGED BEATING OF A WOMAN, however Recently in 2014, in a separate incident on an episode of Catfish we see Nev acting in an aggressive and intimidating why towards a black man.  He gets up in his personal space, behaves in a highly aggressive manor , at one point Nev throw's the man's phone into the river and gets right up in his face.  The producer was heard as saying "Oh s'#t" and a concerned co presenter immediately told Nev to "BACK OFF"

Nev comes from a powerful family and as a celebrity as a huge following and has so far managed to hold down his position at MTV.  We want to change this.

Nev even posted an anti abuse selfie in response to Ray Rice, who was recently suspended from the NFL for punching his wife in the face—twice. Nev posted a somewhat obsure image of himself in a peculiar post on twitter with the words, "Cowards make me sick. Real men show strength through patience & honor. This elevator is abuse free. #RESPECT"

Join us as we lobby MTV's Parent company Viacom to not allow this confirmed violent and aggressive person to present a support show aimed at helping people who can be them self's victims of different forms of unhealthy treatment and abuse".
