Thank you so much for joining this petition, your comments opposing the original project were heard! The revised plan, unfortunately, has the same goals. Alternative 1 is the preferred option: no fire, no smoke, no herbicides, no logging roads, no timber sales. Please email your comments by September 10, asking for Alternative 1, to keep the trees in the forest. It takes about 50 years to grow one tree, 60 seconds to cut it down. Please specify Butler Hollow Project on the subject line, at: comments-eastern-mark-twain-ava@fs.fed.us District Ranger Koloski will decide, and he wants timber sales for his District. West Coast wildfires have taken $$ from his budget. Don't feel bad for Koloski, USFS has access to other funds and every year they play the same game. Carbon offsets paid by coal-fired plants would provide guaranteed revenues for many years; that is a win-win solution.
