Stop Act H.R. 1226
26.05.2018
As you all might be already aware, at the last meeting with the City Council Mayor Fulop attempted to: - pass a Resolution to relocate the Monument but it was effectively blocked (not voted), based on the agreement reached with city council members. That resolution if voted on would have been passed giving a green light to the immediate removal of the statute - pass an Ordinance seeking relocation of the Statute – it passed its first reading and vote but is not a law, until it passes the 2nd vote. As for now, there are three weeks to change the vote of the Council Members and save the Monument Attorney Platta declared legal steps on behalf of the Polish Community warning it is going to be a very long and vicious battle. We still continue to run the petition until we know all about the final status of the Memorial. Thank you for your support with already over 10,100 signatures. ___________________ We also would like to take the opportunity right here and pass a message to all those who followed our Twitter account (@StopActHR1226) and our website (https://stopacthr1226.org).
