The rider is Mr. Jimmy McConnell of Union City, TN. He has been riding "Big Lick" Tennessee Walking Horses since he was a teenager. Mr. McConnell is now in his early 70s. Mr. McConnell's brother, Jackie McConnell, is a former "Big Lick" Horse Trainer who was the subject of an ABC Nightline program which exposed "Big Lick" Animal Cruelty. Mr. Jackie McConnell pled guilty to federal charges in the U. S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee, and was also prosecuted by TN District Attorney General in Fayette County near Memphis. CCABLAC (Citizens Campaign Against "Big Lick" Animal Cruelty is fighting to end “Big Lick” Animal Cruelty by protesting "Big Lick" Horses Shows everywhere they exist.
