Mrs. May went back to Brussels again, this time she went to ask for an extension to Article 50 so that she could have a bit more time to get MPs to agree on the way forward after being twice heavily defeated on her Brexit Deal.
She had intended to allow MPs another Meaningful Vote on her Brexit Deal when she got back, but decided not to risk it, as it seemed unlikely that it would be passed. Instead she got quite stroppy with the MPs, like a school teacher reprimanding naughty pupils. I think she would have liked to give them detention with 1000 lines saying "I must pass Mrs. May's Deal".
She was I think grateful for the weekend and the next Meaningful Vote will probably be on Tuesday and the debate will be on how long the extension to Article 50 should be.
The problem for her with this weekend is that thousands from all over the country are marching through Central London to Westminster asking for a People's Vote. There is considerable resistance to this from a number of MPs, especially those who want us to leave the EU.
There is also a new petition , Revoke Article 50 and remain in the EU.You'll find it at www.parliament.uk/petitions Already well over 4.000,000 have signed it in the first few days. Please sign it and encourage as many friends and everyone you can think of to sign it too.
