The month is June already and we are now only days away with the Yulin festival due to take place on 21st June - 30 June 2018. Did you know that the Yulin Dog meat festival only began in 2010? That is 8 years of a so called festival taking place... The years may sound many but the Dogs who lose their lives to this monstrous event have no number. There are numerous dogs who suffer from this event and lose their lives in the process. Did you also know that some dogs are raised simply for this event? Infact some of them are dogs stolen from the streets with their collars still remaining. We see these images and hear the details online but there are people who have been on site and who explain their experience and what they see. So Yes it is real and it is happening. What we want is for it to stop from happening. I saw a quote the other day which melt my heart. It said, “ I sit for you, will you stand up for me” — Anonymous. It was a image of a dog holding a sign with this quote. And it’s true. We should show dogs the same friendship and loyalty we expect from them. So lets say stop! let’s say no! Stop Yulin Dog meat festival now and forever China! Please find it in your hearts to say no to this event from recurring, make this year be the year of change. Make 21st June not a date to eat Dog meat but a date to stop it.
