The residents of Park Slope ask that the MTA provide access for the disabled and the senior community at the 7th Avenue, Brooklyn stop of the F and G subway lines by installation of an elevator

The Issue

This is the station with the highest ridership statistics (3,904,986 in 2013) in Park Slope. It provides access to a major hospital, New York Methodist Hospital, one of the few remaining in this area of Brooklyn. The 8th Avenue exit, closest to the newly proposed outpatient pavilion of the New York Methodist Hospital, has 70 stairs to be climbed before reaching street level. Three  bus lines intersect with the 7th and 8th Street exits on 9th Street.

New York City is being promoted as an ideal retirement community. As a result, many more people are choosing to age in place. The subway system muust adapt to serve this aging population
