Mumbai a naturally beautiful city blessed with temperate climate, sandy beaches, lush greenery, habitat to exotic animals and birds nestled in its forests, flowing rivers and abundant lakes... sounds like fairy land...!!!..Yes our very own Mumbai has it all!!

But in the last few decades the city has been neglected and mutilated. THIS IMPACTS OUR YOUNG CHILDREN THE MOST.

The destructive demons killing our city the most:

1. PLASTIC is a huge menace in the city but no action by BMC to reduce or restrict usage of plastic bags or ensuring responsible disposal of plastic bags. The plastic garbage ends up in the drains or in the sea, worsening the water logging problem during rains. The sea is coughing out tons of plastic everyday. Plastic is highly toxic and contaminates our land and sea with deadly toxins leading to dreadful diseases like cancer, hormonal imbalance etc. WORSE plastic is being consumed by animals and marine life killing them and ending up on our plates. (So whatever you give comes back to you... So true isnt it!!) Soon we will have our stomaches filled with plastics, So people  PLEASE THINK BEFORE USING PLASTIC Bags. 

BMC ,to start with please make plastic bags above  50 microns chargeable  and ban the plastics bellow 50 microns.

2. UNTREATED SEWAGE WATER ENTERING THE SEA from the nullahas and gutters. Our beautiful beaches are now reduced to garbage dumps..its a pity!!.. We cannot even take our kids to the beach, or take a rejuvinating dip in the sea water. The BMC cleans the shore every morning but what about the rubbish that going into the water  that needs to stop. This is a really serious offence and the BMC needs to step up

3.RUTHLESS AND RAMPANT CUTTING AND MUTILATION OF TREES in the name of development . Mumbai has lost so many of its beautiful trees to disease in the last few years due to negligence. Our lovely rain tress that are 100-200 years old standing tall to give us shade  and tons of clean air have been cut without a thought, will never be able to replace them... what a loss!! Though the city air quality is going from bad to worse, the tree authority blatantly grants permission to builders to develop without considering the amount of destruction it would cause to our already compromised environment. Please protect our existing trees , open spaces and green spaces. 

BMC your quick action on the above matters would be appreciated. Besides the above your improved vigilance on encroachments that are fearlessly engulfing our pavements , strict adherence to garbage segregation that's is the need of today considering the sorry state of our dumping grounds and offcourse your best effort to improve our air quality which is the basic need for every human being needs to be addressed.

 I could go on but to cut it short BMC you are responsible, for looking after the city and taking decisions for the betterment of it. Its quite apparent the job is far from being done!!! WAKE UP!
