All Candidates Meeting Rally’s Tuesday Apr 25 (Polak) and Thursday Apr 27 (Coleman) 7-9PM

Happy Monday Walnut Grove, The election is upon us and All Candidate’s meetings are planned this week that are related to the 216th St Interchange. As media are present is it very important to show your displeasure to drive some media attention. Tomorrow, Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 7-9 pm at Kwantlen University is the All Candidates meeting with Mary Polak, the current Minister of the Environment and the person charged with the environmental responsibility/approvals of the 216 Street Interchange. Thursday, April 27th, 2017 at 7-9 pm at the Langley Events Centre, West Gymnasium is the all candidates meeting for Langley East - which is our riding if you live in Walnut Grove. Rich Coleman will be present and you can ask questions about the 216th St Interchange. Mary Polak’s team opted out of the 150 meter buffer requirement in her Ministry’s guidelines for a busy road near schools (BC Ministry of the Environment’s Develop with Care guidelines). The MOT changed the traffic volume estimates from the current TOL estimates and previous MOT estimates to be below the threshold for a busy road in the develop with care guidelines in order to avoid the scrutiny of their own standards. We all know these estimates cannot be enforced after the 4 lane overpass and 4 lane 216th St is put in place. Rich Coleman is the driving force behind the Federal and Provincial funding for the 216th St Interchange to support the development on the south side of HWY 1. Mayor Froese told me at the Pancake Rally “This is a Provincial Project, where do you want me to send the cars?”. Now is your chance to question the champion of the Interchange, Rich Coleman.
