Here is the 11h open caption update of 2025! New York’s bill (S02269 and A4628) has a small chance of passing this year because the New York State legislative session is almost over for this year. However, good news! New York will try again next year, AND New York has a powerhouse of a young lady pushing for the bill now! She has succeeded in getting multiple media sources to report on the bill.
Who is this young lady? Her name is Sarah Lin. Sarah and her sister are fierce advocates for open captions because their mother is hard of hearing. All the attention Ms. Lin is getting for open captions will help New York State when the advocates try again next year to get an open captions bill passed.
