Dear Sun City, Summerlin and NW residents,
Thank you for your support of this petition.
The Cover image shows a normal day of air traffic in Las Vegas. 99% of the traffic at KVGT or Harry Reid is being rerouted towards the west of the airports. There are ALMOST NO PLANES around Henderson Executive, maybe a few planes flying in high altitude, sporadically (on a daily basis now, we are keeping a track). The traffic at KVGT is now being DOMINATED by flight schools and touring businesses like Sky Combat Ace that were BANNED or kicked out of other places. What’s disturbing is that many of these flight schools are based OUTSIDE the state of Nevada or located in the City of Henderson, but they are just leasing a space at KVGT for their frequent daily practices over our Summerlin homes and nice golf courses.
A few months ago, Sky Combat Ace got the boot from KHND and is now at KVGT. Many flight schools and other touring businesses were moved to KVGT too. They fly low and frequent over densely populated residential homes west of the airport, in particular NW, Sun City Summerlin and even Summerlin west/south, they love flying low over our beautiful golf courses and homes to enjoy the scenery, who wouldn’t?
I’m not criticizing Henderson or how much political power they wield, NOT AT ALL. I’m in favor of what Henderson does, they SCREAM LOUD politically and they win. They work together as a community and they win. They win, not just because they are a City of their own, They win because they work together and won’t put up with the constant noise, fuel pollution or daily assault of Sky Combat Ace obnoxiously loud E300s and their group tours. They won’t just learn to live with it, with the assault of loud rogue air vessels in the background that can be heard miles and miles away.
These junk planes are now occupying Summerlin airspace and are using Summerlin as their FREE auxiliary training ground. In the meantime, I’ve talked to Sun City and Summerlin neighbors and many feel threatened by the dangerous and frequent maneuvers of Sky Combat Ace stunt planes or excessive looping and frequent scheduling of flight schools.
So the question is how long will Summerlin put up with this? Will Summerlin choose to live with the daily assault of low flying planes? Will it learn to accept that a few of these low flying planes might fall off the sky (as they have before), this time on top of residential homes to destroy lives? Or we will come together as community to kick Sky Combat Ace and flight schools out of Summerlin residential and send them to outskirt of the City. The choice is ours. Summerlin needs to make a choice, to live with the daily assault of touring businesses or to call for the boycott of Sky Combat Ace and flight schools that are invading the peace and tranquility of our residential neighborhoods.
It is time for Summerlin to take a stand. Sky Combat Ace obnoxiously loud E300s and flight schools don’t belong to an affluent residential neighborhood like Summerlin. Pick up the phone and call your local representative and tell them to act. Pressure works, that’s how Henderson did it.
