1.  Top down community engagement: Sound Transit - City of Seattle workshops on streetscapes and Sound Transit Equity Workshops

  • No collaboration with community to set agendas
  • Information Desert: ST refusal to answer questions/provide information about station locations, design, costs since March 23, 2023

2. Sound Transit refusal to remove 5th Avenue route as basis for costs despite 5th being “culturally infeasible” to build

3. 36th and 37th legislative districts, SODO, Pioneer Square, HSD, First Hill, super majority of CID residents, businesses, non-profits support 4th Avenue Transit Hub & Station

4. 2-3 year delay for new DEIS costing $1.2 billion to $1.8 billion ($50 million per month), not to mention time and millions wasted by throwing out the old DEIS for 4th Avenue Transit Hub

·       Delays for other routes masked by 2-3 year delay for N&S of CID routes

5. Better Treatment for well-resourced neighborhoods vs lowest income CID

  • Equity analysis for SLU alternatives vs none for CID
  • No rush to declare preferred alternatives for SLU to gather as much info as possible vs declaring preferred alternatives for CID w/o any information
  • New alternatives for SLU vs none for CID
  • Unneeded parking garages for other areas vs none for CID

6. Sound Transit re-branding of N&S of CID names to hide the the injustice and inequity of bypassing the CID.  North of CID is rebranded as James Street Station (aka Jail Station) and South of CID is rebranded Dearborn Street Station (aka Dearborn I-90 Station). Dearborn Street Station is especially deceptive because Dearborn St. is the entrance; the station platform is closer to I-90, about a half mile farther south.
