CHIMP UPDATE: It's Ginny's birthday and she's still waiting...
Today is Ginny’s 34th birthday
And she’s still at the Alamogordo Primate Facility waiting to go to sanctuary.
Ginny should be celebrating her birthday at Chimp Haven, but Dr. Francis Collins is betraying the promise he made and denying her a better life.
It’s long past time to send Ginny to sanctuary—she deserves better.
About Ginny:
- Born May 5, 1986 at Holloman Air Force Base in Alamogordo, New Mexico
- Taken from her mother when she was an infant
- “Likes people, friendly, gets along with (her) group”
In the wild she would have spent several years with her mother, nursing, playing and learning how to be a chimp.
Yet, just weeks after her 1st birthday Ginny was shipped off to a laboratory in Maryland and used in painful and unnecessary testing.
Decades later Ginny is housed with Faylene, Patricia, and Kirsten. Evonne, another cage mate, died last July before reaching Chimp Haven.
