The Right Honourable Suella Braverman KC MP,

I am writing to kindly request your assistance with a settlement issue Prof. Freeman has been facing. He is a Chinese citizen who arrived in the UK twenty years ago, Prof. Freeman has unfortunately encountered some difficulties with the settlement in Moray despite being an outstanding citizen for the United Kingdom. 

Over the years, Prof. Freeman has contributed significantly to academia as a professor in electronic engineering, working with and starting countless local, national and international charities from the Moray Wellbeing Hub to VOX Scotland, from ReBoot to Alliance Scotland, from TSI Moray to International Foundation for Integrated Care, from Inclusive Scotland to Human Rights Consortium Scotland, campaigning for world peace in Moray, Scotland and the United Kingdom, and using his lived experiences of mental health to campaign for better support. He is currently employed at the Highlands and Islands Student Association as the Regional Vice President of Education and has personally lobbied for positive changes on behalf of over thirty thousand students, across the University of the Highland's and Islands (UHI) partnership. He fundamentally believes and upholds the values of the United Kingdom dearly in his heart, Moray will forever be his home. He always communicates with hope, love, and peace from his heart to everyone he meets and is a very compassionate man to those around him.

To conclude, there are already five hundred signatures on an online petition posted Saturday the 10th of June 2023, and the people of Moray want him here. Moray is his home.

I please ask kindly that you reconsider his case and work with his local MP, Douglas Ross MP MSP to come to a solution on Professor Freeman’s settlement, I know he deserves to be a permanent citizen of the UK and I hope you do too. I look forward to your reply.
