LOPESAN refuse to re-open zig zag road in Puerto de Mogan and give access to all footpaths

LOPESAN refuse to re-open zig zag road in Puerto de Mogan and give access to all footpaths
The Issue
The zig zag road in Puerto de Mogan (Lugar Lomoquiebre) that leads to the footpath in the hills above Mogan has been illegally closed by Lopesan, a large and powerful company in Gran Canaria. They unilaterally closed this road and thereby access to a footpath which connects Puerto de Mogan to the valley of Veneguera and beyond. This well-worn path is an ancient donkey trail (old Camino Reale) and has been walked by locals for centuries to negotiate the hills. More recently by thousands of visitors to Puerto Mogan who enjoy the beautiful landscape above Mogan.
Lopesan in their actions have disregarded local people. They have closed this road with oppressive gates and have shown no consideration or respect for Canarian heritage. This is corporate vandalism at its worst.
In Spanish law, the responsibility for these old established Camino Reales belongs to Mogan Ayuntamiento (Council). Enforcement to the footpath is legally under the jurisdiction of Mogan Council. The elected Mayor (Alcalde) of Mogan through the administration has responsibility for protecting and keeping this ancient paths open to free public access. Mogan Council appear to have done nothing to protect this path. They have, without question, allowed Lopesan to close the access road and have not listened to or supported local people. They have failed in their legal responsibility and duty
This petition requests that Mogan Council accept their responsibilities and governance to enforce their authority in respect of Lopesan and issue an order for the footpath to reopen to walkers immediately.
Please help by signing this petition that will be presented to the Mogan Council.
