A slight decrease in od death in new mexico 4℅ . This is great news, but in this area as is maybe the case in other impoverished areas crime suicide murder and child abuse increasing. People on heroin especially  meth are highly unpredictable, when it comes to what they will do to get their next fix. Saddened to say some are not only selling themselves, for the drug but their own little children. I myself find youth frequently on the side of the road passed out with syringe on hand , on the floor , in their arm with car still running or laying down on the ground. Most are in teen too young adult ages. When i find the young youth  this really breaks me down. Parents  are giving in and giving up too Soon on their offspring. Most of us parents simply can't cope afford or understand why there are no solutions that are making sense or working. I do see and talk to  addicts that are getting cleaned up , but sadly tell me they can't find employment due to felonies on past drug use, or that no one wants to give them a chance, especially contract construction sites only hiring their own or bringing in crews. Some tell me they are doing well and working side work but hooked on suboxin , some for 10 yrs, but working and somewhat living he tells me. Others utilizing methadone clinic to help w their addiction but as well for supplemental income with the check they get for participating dependent on travel distances . Why don't the jails provide these services in the jails for free , some say they in jails making big bucks on suboxin sales on the inside, like heroin or meth. With jails functioning in these manner , where is the justice. They go in addicted to pills as youth, and coming out addicted to heroin, meth suboxin as  iv users. Get them the help there, and guide them toward sober living and toward employment or school, thing is no tradeschool here. Just dont know what will happen. Like addicts being unpredictable, so is leadership. Never know what they will do to get their personal needs met.
