We Cleveland fans saw all the hub-bub about Charlie Sheen offering to throw the first pitch of the World Series in Cleveland, Ohio (and saw MLB turn him down). We get it, everyone loves the movie Major League, we do too. But the Cleveland Indians are no longer the laughable losers, nor are they an expensive Hollywood production with big-name actors for that matter. They are much like us fans; lacking in payroll but not in heart, embracing the label "underdog" because they'd rather shock the world. We are a comeback-kid city with strong communities, an unassuming pay-it-forward attitude, made up of rabid sports fans who loved the Tribe even when they were so bad they had a movie made about them. Fans like John Adams, pounding out the "heartbeat of the Tribe" on his trusty drum for over 40 years.

Major League Baseball is all about the fans. There is no dedicated, passionate, or more fitting fan that truly embodies the heart of Cleveland than Mr. John Adams. Truly a blue collar give-back guy, John is a teacher at Cleveland State University, a CPR instructor and active in community work. It's time we give-back to him. He deserves to be on that mound in Game 1. He deserves to throw out that first pitch as we fellow fans #RallyTogether behind him in deafening fashion... and then give the man his drum, for the world to hear. Give the biggest fan with the biggest heart the first pitch, as without the fans there would be no World Series.
