Fairness for High Skilled Workers Act Kills Diversity

Fairness for High Skilled Workers Act Kills Diversity

The Issue

America is a nation of diversity, but there are many in congress who seek to limit diversity. They want to  create a world closed off from the progress and creativity that a diverse workforce brings. In the name of "fairness," Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT 3), an avid Trump supporter and anti-immigration demagogue, has proposed a bill that would destroy diversity among high skilled workers. He calls this bill the Fairness for High Skilled Workers Act. It is a SHAM.

While proponents of the Fairness for High Skilled Workers Act of 2017 (H.R. 392) argue that it benefits immigrant workers, it will benefit only immigrants from a small handful of nationalities  while decreasing overall diversity.  Indian and Chinese immigrants will see a boost in immigration rates, but the number of immigrants from smaller countries will decrease significantly. If the bill goes into effect, natives from a single country could be alloted up to 85% of unreserved E-2 and E-3 visas (visas for high-skilled workers).  The Fairness for High Skilled Workers Act is NOT a win for high skilled immigrants all over the world. It benefits a few select nations, and it is  attack on diversity.  SUPPORT DIVERSITY IN IMMIGRATION, urge congress to vote NO on the Fairness for High Skilled Workers Act (H.R. 392).
